Conman held for cheating 80 people of Rs 5 crore

Pune, March 3 The Kothrud police on Sunday arrested a conman who attracted investments into a business of selling computers, laptops and mobile phones and allegedly cheated around 80 persons of Rs 5 crore. The accused, identified as Ninad Ravindra Thatte of Patwardhanbaug, was remanded to police custody for two days. Jagdish Prabhakar Joshi (54) of Wadgaon Dhayri has lodged a complaint. Police said Thatte was operating a firm called Iron Technology Venture at Bandal Complex on Paud road. He lured investors for his business through newspaper advertisements, assuring them of 15 percent returns every month.
