Mumbai, February 16 A sessions court on Friday sentenced 26-year-old Bilal Khan to three years in jail after he was found guilty of robbing a vegetable vendor on July 11, 2007 after giving him a laced drink.

Khan went to victim Anand Dravid’s shop near Khar railway station and purchased vegetables worth Rs 500 from him. He paid him Rs 100 and asked him to collect the rest from the “madam sitting in the car near by”. Khan then offered a glass of nimbu paani to Dravid, which he accepted. After a while, Dravid passed out and after regaining consciousness two days later at Bhabha Hospital, he realised that Khan had made off with his mobile, gold chain and a gold ring. A case was registered with Khar police station. Recently, Khan was arrested in connection with another case of robbery and during interrogation he confessed to having robbed Dravid too.
