Convention to mark 150 years of 1857 revolt

Chandigarh, January 31 The Department of Journalism and Mass Communication of Chaudhary Devi Lal University (CDLU), Sirsa, will host the Youth Leadership Convention, a mega event to mark the 150th year of India’s first war of independence, as well as the birth centenary year of Shaheed Bhagat Singh.

Rohtak MP Deepinder Singh Hooda launched www.mutkisangram.com, the website of the youth leadership convention (YLC) during his visit to CDLU.

Hooda opened the on-line registration process for the convention by registering himself at a function held in the multi-media lab of the department.

Vice-Chancellor Dr K.C. Bhardwaj, Registrar Dr Vazir Nehra and YLC organising secretary Virender Singh Chauhan accompanied the MP on this occasion.

Vice-Chancellor Dr K.C. Bhardwaj, who is also the chairperson of the YLC organising committee, said the proposal of the convention was sent to the state government and Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda had approved it.

Young parliamentarians, Haryana legislators under the age of 40 years, state IAS and IPS officers as well as young leaders from various walks of life would be invited to participate in the YLC.
