Sunil Anant Dhole of Daund, S.G Belwadkar of Dhankwadi, Sunita Rajendra Kondhare of Sinhagad Road, Kishore Anand Panhalkar of Hadapsar, Santosh Digambar Parkhi of Kothrud, Kiran Sudhakar Shivratri of Yerawada, Nitin Vishnu Dagde of Wadgaon in Maval taluka are the names of the accused.
While Dhole is the director of the of the credit society, Belwadkar is the internal auditor, Kondhre works as administrator and Panhalkar and Dagde work as clerks.
Special auditor of cooperative society (flying squad) Anirudh Prabhkar Rao Sengaonkar filed a complaint in this case.
According to the Shivajinagar police, the seven accused hatched a plan to siphon money from the credit society. From March 4 1999 till April 31, 2007, the accounts relating to money deducted from the salaries of the court employees were fudged.
While accepting monthly installments in lieu of loans given by the credit society, the accused fudged the accounts relating to the principal and interest received. They inflated daily expenses in the accounts books and showed fake names of people to whom money has been lent, apart from making forged documents, police said.
Investigating officer Sampat Patil said, “Seeing the extent of the fraud, we have requested our seniors in the department to transfer the case to the economic offences wing of the city police.”
