Lucknow The Auraiya police obtained a court order on Friday for the attachment of property of Vibha Tiwari — Dibiyapur Nagar Pachayat president and wife of BSP legislator Shekhar Tiwari, who is wanted for PWD engineer Manoj Kumar Gupta’s murder.

Vibha has been accused of destroying evidence of Gupta’s murder, in which her husband and former district BSP president Yogendra Dohrey are the main accused.

Earlier, the police had sent a notice to Vibha Tiwari’s residence asking her to help in the investigation. Since she did not respond, the police have initiated proceedings for attachment of her property.

Auraiya Additional Superintendent of Police Sureshwar, who is also the investigating officer of the murder case, said: “We will soon start the process of attaching Vibha’s property.”

The police have also attached the properties of dismissed Dibiyapur station officer Hoshiyar Singh, another accused in the case. Singh is also on the run.

“While his property in Mathura was attached yesterday, the Hatras property was attached today,” Sureshwar added.

Vibha Tiwari, meanwhile, has moved the Allahabad High Court, seeking a stay on her arrest. According to sources, her petition was placed before the court’s registry on Thursday and is likely to come up for hearing next week.
