Ahmedabad The city police, on Monday, interrogated the teachers of the Nutan Prakash Vidyalay school following a complaint of an alleged rape by a 33-year-old woman of Dariapur against the school principal.

The police have, however, not arrested the alleged ‘culprit’.

Investigating Officer, Deputy Superintendent of SC/ST Cell, Ahmedabad, R L Chavda said: “We had been to the school today. The principal was not there. We made inquiries from the staff and the teachers. We are still investigating the case.”

A representative of an NGO said: “We were trying to help the woman by investigating the case on our own. We had plans to go to the school and video-tape the behaviour of the principal and give it to the police for investigation. But, the woman’s all of a sudden complaint, complicated the issue. The principal is now nowhere to be seen in the school.”

Chavda said the medical tests of the woman at the Civil Hospital are over, but they haven’t received any report.

The police said Jain’s mother, Premben stays with the family in Mangleshwar Society in Isanpur. “She smelled a rat when the four did not respond to her constant banging on the bedroom door till 9 am. Premben intimated her elder son and some neighbours, who broke open the door and found the family members unconscious,” said Sanghani.
