Costa Coffee launched in city

Pune British coffee chain Costa Coffee launched in Pune at Panchasheel Ralty Tech Park, Yerwada opening two more outlets simultaneously at the BMC building and ICC Trade towers. Virag Joshi, president & CEO, Devyani International Ltd, master franchisee of Costa Coffee in India briefed on Costa and its plans in Pune and Western India as well as overall expansion across the country.

"We plan to open at least seven outlets in the city in the next six months. We have been primarily concentrating on Pune and Mumbai in the western region. We are focusing on metro cities and plan to open one outlet every fifteen days in the country, w ith an aim of eighty-five store by the year end.

With three distinct formats we also have the outlets on airports in addition to IT parks and other prominent city points," added Joshi.

Costa Coffee entered India in September 2005 and has already opened around 50 outlets in north India and parts of western India. Besides the coffee based drinks, the company also offers a variety of foods and has been recently awarded the Franchise operator of the year. Costa Coffee currently has 1200 outlets in eighteen countries.
