The couple had duped students twice earlier in the same manner, and both times they had used the same name for the institute.

However, this time the students laid a trap, which resulted in their arrest.

According to the police, around 25 to 30 students recently came to the Vikaspuri Police Station with a complaint that the institute where they had taken admission had duped them.

“I took admission in November last year. But they kept delaying my identity card till January, when the director, Rohchak Sharma, called and asked me to collect it on February 7. But when I went there, the institute had shut down,” a student Sonia Arora told Newsline.

Sonia had taken a bank loan of Rs 70,000 to pay the fees. She had even cross-checked the institute’s credentials with the Varda Devi College of Education (affiliated to Kurukshetra University) in Jhullana in Haryana — Dolphin institute had claimed it was affiliated to the same college.

College accountant Purusottam Sharma had assured her that Dolphin was affiliated to the college, the police said. Ever since Dolphin downed shutters, Purusottam has been on leave. Sonia claimed that initially,when she approached the police with her complaint, their response was “cold”. She then contacted 18 other students of the course and laid a trap for the institute’s PRO Rachna Sharma.

“We asked her to come to Moti Bagh, saying there was a job on offer,” Sonia said. Rachna took the bait and was arrested.

Through Rachna, the police reached Rohchak and Jasmine, residents of Parusnath Apartments in Noida Sector 93.
