Amarinder had filed an application before the court and his counsel had stated that the former CM wants to attend the session of Punjab Vidhan Sabha on March 10 and 11. He said he was to address the Assembly on March 5 and 6 on behalf of the Congress, but due to Shivaratri holiday, the session was adjourned till March 10.
On the other hand, special public prosecutor Miter Sen Goyal said keeping in view the sensitivity of the case, the application of the accused should not be accepted.
Besides Amarinder's plea, the judge also accepted the applications of Sunita Ghambir, wife of director of Today Homes G K Ghambir, Natasha, his daughter, and Vikram and Yeshu, his niece and nephew, seeking exemption from personal appearance on March 10.
