Court acquits 1 of poppy possession

CHANDIGARH, FEBRUARY 22

A Local court today acquitted Major Singh, resident of Punjab, from charges of possessing 8 kg poppy husk. Singh was booked under the NDPS Act in 2002, when he was arrested by the Chandigarh Police near the Sector 17 bus stand, and an amount of 8 kg of poppy husk allegedly recovered from him. Since the prosecution failed to prove the case, Singh was acquitted.

District Bar elections on March 14
The District Bar Association elections will be held on March 14. A notice in this regard was issued today by the Bar Association. Despite the announcement, no names contesting the post of president of the Bar Association and other posts have been revealed so far.
