A complaint in this regard was lodged before the court by one Pankaj Modi from Paldi area of the city.

According to the details of the case, Pankaj Modi, his brother Himanshu Modi and mother, Nalini Modi, own four plots (having Survey no. 93, 115, 118, and 119) at Vinzol village in the outskirts of the city.

Pankaj has alleged that his mother and brother, without his consent, sold off the land to AUDA officials at Rs 48.83 lakh in 2006.

In his complaint, Pankaj has also named the then Chief Executive Officer of AUDA and an advocate, Chandravadan Patel, as one of the accused.

Pankaj stated that although he is one of the three owners of the land, the AUDA officials acquired the same from Nalini Modi and Himanshu Modi, causing him monetary loss.

Advocate Vinod Brahmbhatt, who appeared before the court of Additional Principal Judge, P B Desai, said: "The complainant came to know about the land deal only two months ago. After preparing a case, he lodged a complaint before the court."

While announcing the inquiry into the case under the provisions of the CrPC, Additional Principal Judge Desai said: "It emerges that the complainant has prima-facie established his ownership of the disputed property, which he shares with his mother and brother.”

However, on a perusal of the complaint and an accompanying document, it emerges that the present complainant has been excluded from the properties by surreptitious means and prima-facie there appears to be involvement of the other persons in the present case."
