Court records evidence in German gangrape case

Chandigarh The prosecution evidence in the German gangrape case was recorded in the court of additional district and sessions judge R S Attri today. The statements of Sanjeev Kumar, the then investigating officer in the case, were also recorded. He narrated the incident in detail and also the course of its investigation.

The court also recorded the statement of Desraj, a clerk in the office of the Registering Authority, Yamuna Nagar, Ashish Bali, Chief Security Officer of Hotel Taj, and Yash Pal, a police draftsman who had prepared the site plans of the places where the crime was committed. Desraj produced records pertaining to the ownership of a Scorpio, which was allegedly used to abduct the victim.

Bali gave details about the incident and confirmed having provided a copy of the CCTV footage to the police while Yashpal confirmed the site plans were prepared by him.

The German tourist was allegedly abducted from Hotel Taj on September 28 and raped by five youths at a farmhouse in Samalkha.
