Mumbai, February 25 Court on Monday rejected the application filed by advocate Ashok Sarogi to surrender to court again. It also rejected police’s application seeking Sarogi’s custody. The court had earlier ordered the police to give 48-hours to Sarogi before arresting him.

“We had sought Sarogi’s custody which was rejected by the court. We are now collecting evidence and further investigations are on. Soon, we will send a notice to Sarogi to arrest him,” said police inspector Fulsingh Pawar of Ghatkopar police station.

Sarogi and four others have been booked by police under Sections 120 (B), 501 and 509 of the Indian Penal Code for criminal conspiracy, printing matter known to be defamatory and outraging a woman’s modesty, after Pallavi Ashar, former junior of Sarogi, allegedly tried to commit suicide by taking 32 sleeping pills at her residence in Ghatkopar on February 19.
