Lucknow, February 8 The Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) has demanded that the Mayawati Government ensure a conducive environment for growth in the private sector, in a pre-budget memorandum forwarded to the state government for consideration.

“The upcoming budget of Uttar Pradesh should impart an impetus for growth through a reforms-based agenda leading to employment generation,” said Deepak Malik, chairman, CII Uttar Pradesh State Council, while discussing the memorandum.

Elaborating on the six-point memorandum, Malik said there was an immediate need to analyse unexplored areas, including the problems of slow growth in industry and thrust on small-scale industries in the state.
