Vadodara, January 4 The Vadodara Detection of Crime Branch (DCB) on Thursday night nabbed four burglars with several weapons and lock picking equipment, just minutes before the gang was about to break into a house.

DCB police sub-inspector (PSI) A D Parmar said, they received a tip off late on Thursday evening that the gang was going to break into some houses in the Syed Vasna Road area. "A team was immediately assembled and we rushed to the spot around midnight. We nabbed them as they were lying in wait in an empty plot of land next to Sant Krupa Society," Parmar said.

Police arrested Papa Singh Sikhligar, from Ajwa Road, Jarnail Singh Sikhligar from Harni Road and two others, while Kalu Singh Sikhligar managed to escape. The four have been remanded in police custody till January 10.

Parmar said, "We know they have a criminal past, but can confirm it only after properly questioning the suspects. Combing operations are on to nab the fifth member." According to him, Papa Singh was the gang leader and the police recovered several knives, iron pipes and lock breaking equipment from them.
