Two of the injured jawans were brought to Kolkata and they have been admitted in a private hospital.
The accident took place at the Laljol crossing. The CRPF truck was on administration duty.
The squad was returning to their base camp in Belpahari when the driver of the vehicle lost control as he was trying to avoid hitting a cyclist, a CRPF officer said.
According to a senior officer, Head Constable B L Verma, 42, of the 169 battalion succumbed to his injuries later. Burma was a resident of Vishalgarh in West Tripura.
Nageswar Rao, Inspector General, CRPF said: “Two of the injured are very critical so they have been shifted to Kolkata. The other jawans have been admitted in the Jhargram hospital.”
The central paramilitary force personnel have been conducting joint operations along with state police in the area for the last one year to combat Naxalites.
