ID Singh, General Manager, Punjab (south) zone was the chief guest on the occasion. SK Goyal, Deputy General Manager (DGM), SC Bithal, DGM, KL Miglani, Assistant General Manager, PK Nayyar, Director of the bank, along with other senior officers and staff members, were also present. About 200 customers of the bank attended the meet.
ID Singh, General Manager, said that in order to provide quick service to its customers, all the 71 branches of Ludhiana district have been rolled over to the Core Banking Solution. Singh informed that the bank has more than 4,500 branches. Out of these, 3,153 business outlets at 1,217 centres are offering online banking facilities, covering about 88 per cent business of the bank.
About the business of Punjab (south) zone of the bank, Singh said that the total business of the zone has increased from Rs 14,520 crores in December 2006 to Rs 16,290 cores in December 2007, registering a growth at the rate of 12 per cent during the year. Aggregate deposits of the zone have increased from Rs 6,188 crores in December 2006 to Rs 6,881 crores in Dec 2007, registering a growth of 8 per cent to credit of the zone. It increased from Rs 5,323 crores in December 2006 to Rs 6,711 crores in December 2007, registering a growth of 26 per cent during the year. The CD ratio of the zone stood at 100.5 per cent.
The customers appreciated the efforts of the bank to provide the latest technology in banking services.
