Ahmedabad Dahod Congress MLA Vajesinh Panda was, on Sunday, booked for pasting posters of party general secretary Rahul Gandhi in the office of the Superintendent of Police.

The police said Panda was booked for damaging public property. Inspector H J Thakore said they themselves filed the complaint when the posters were seen in the office of SP Vipul Aggarwal on February 13.

“We are investigating the matter. Those in charge of publicity would also be questioned,” Thakore said. The MLA, however, distanced himself from the issue saying it was a work of mischief mongers.

Panda expressed ignorance about the issue. “It must be a work of someone plotting to malign party's image in the district,” he said.
