Sas nagar, February 29 The date for the second draw of around 1,033 plots in Sector 76 to 80 will be decided by GMADA (Greater Mohali Area Development Authority) in the third week of March.

The last draw that was held a couple of months ago was after a seven-year hiatus.

Now, with the clearance of file by Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, GMADA authorities are scrutinising the applications of oustees also, who were left out in the last draw.

There are around 395 oustees applications to be considered this time.

According to sources, GMADA authorities have already fixed March 19 as the date for the draw of 144 LIG flats near Bulk Market in Phase XI.

Estate Officer, GMADA, Sukhjit Pal Singh, confirmed that the file for the second draw has been cleared by the CM (who is also the chairman of GMADA) and the process of scrutinising applications has already started.

He said the date of the draw would be fixed soon after the draw of the LIG flats.

By then, the scrutiny of the oustees applications is also likely to be completed. Sources say around 40 to 50 oustees applications were cancelled by the authorities.

GMADA authorities have given paper possession to the successful allottees of 1,500 plots and many of them have also submitted the layout plan for the construction.

The tenders for the remaining development works in Sector 79 are already out and as soon as development work begins, physical possession of the plots would be handed over to the allotees for the construction.
