DAV staff meet PU syndics, seek action against college

Chandigarh, January 8 The members of the MCM and DAV College Employees’ Unions today staged a protest in Panjab University against the DAV Management, even as the PU Syndicate meeting was being held.

The employees presented a memorandum highlighting their demands to all syndicate members.

They claimed that the college management has not responded to show cause notices seeking explanation from the colleges.

The employees urged the college managements to uphold the PU Calendar in the Diamond Jubilee year of the university.

The employees welcomed the statement of Panjab University Vice-Chancellor Prof RC Sobti. Sobti said that violation of provisions of the PU Calendar would not be allowed. Prof Kuldip Singh, General Secretary, PCCTU, Prof Rakesh Mehta, president, District Council, Professors PK Sharma, Jagwant Singh, Tejinder Virdi, Sukdhdev Singh, Ranjan Garg; PCCTU activists and PU Fellows PS Gill, NP Manocha, RPS Josh, Rabindra Sharma and A S Dua adressed the employees.
