Mumbai The Bhoiwada metropolitan court on Thursday remanded Zanzeb Khan, Dawood Ibhrahim’s brother-in-law, to police custody till January 19 in a case of attempted murder. The Shivaji Park police have sought the custody to interrogate Zanzeb in connection with the attempt to murder case registered against him.

Zanzeb along with three others— Sonu Phatan, Mohsin Pathan and Majid Pathan— had allegedly assaulted one Gulzar Zariwalla and his friend Nilesh Kini in the Shivaji Park area on August 21 last year. According to the police, Zanzeb allegedly told Gulzar that he is being attacked for informing the police on whereabouts of Dawood’s nephew Sajid Wagle.

The police told the court that they want to interrogate Zanzeb in connection with the case and want to recover the weapon used in assaulting Gulzar.

Zanzeb was arrested on Wednesday by the JJ Marg police and was later handed over to Shivaji Park police station.
