Deadly strain reaches Dahod, first confirmed case reported

Vadodara After Modasa, it is now Dahod that faces the threat of Hepatitis B outbreak. On Sunday, the first confirmed case of Hepatitis B was reported here.

One Sukradevi Rahim Mohammad Sisoli (55) was diagnosed with Hepatitis B.

Sisoli, a resident of Suksar village, was first treated for common fever on February 16. Later, she was diagnosed with jaundice, which was confirmed as Hepatitis B on Sunday.

Chief District Health Officer of Dahod, Dr D B Rathod, said, "It is a confirmed case. We immediately examined her family members and people in her village. None has been found positive."

Rathod added, "Her case history at the private hospital has not revealed any kind of infection. But we have ordered for a thorough examination of all the hospitals to find out about the use of disposable needles."

Sisoli has been kept under observation and is in a stable condition.
