The protesters also submitted a memorandum to the authorities.

In the morning, the civilian employees of the Air Force station gathered at main gate to hold a condolence meeting, but within few minutes it took the shape of a protest. They burnt an effigy of the two officers and raised slogans against them. The market also remained closed.

However, Naresh Vig, Defence Public Relations Officer, said no strike was observed, but a protest was stage after which employees resumed work.

Notably, Sachin, who was found killed on Saturday morning, was accused of embezzling Rs 1.17 lakh. Though he was a class four employee, the IAF authorities had assigned him accounts and computers work.

Meanwhile, sources in the Air Force said a team of senior IAF officials would reach Adampur by today evening to conduct an inquiry.
