Deepak fashions Godrej CC victory

Chandigarh, March 2 A splendid batting performance by Deepak Gosai (64 no), enabled Godrej CC to defeat Harikirpa XI by 7 wickets in the ongoing 2nd Godrej Cricket Cup, at GMSSS-32, here, today. Batting first Harikirpa XI piled up a respectable total of 149 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 25 overs. The team was guided by a fine batting performance by Ramandeep Singh (50) and Jatin (42 no). The batsmen were restricted in their batting and were not allowed to play their shots freely. Kulwinder Rambo picked up 3 wickets giving away 39 runs. In reply, Godrej CC achieved the targetwith ease, riding on the blistering batting by Deepak Gosai (64 no). Sandeep scalped 2 wickets.

In the second match of the day, RCL XI defeated City Cricket Club by 5 wickets. Batting first RCL XI put up 175 runs on the board for the loss of 7 wickets., Gurdeep Rana was the top scorer with 50 runs. Batting second City CC managed to get to the total on the penultimate ball. Sansar Bali was the top score with 63 runs. Pawan chipped in with 39 runs.

Brief Scores: Harikirpa XI: 149 for 9 in 25 overs (Ramandeep Singh 50, Jatin 41 no, Gurinder 40, Kulwinmder Rambo 3/39, Narewsh Dhingra 2/18). Godrej CC: 150 for 3 in 21.1 overs (Deepak Gosai 64 no, Narinder Walia 33, Jai Kapil 28, Sandeep 2/29, Suresh 1/23). RCL XI: 175 for 7 in 25 overs (Gurdeep Rana 50, Kirpal Singh 32, Kamaljot Singh 3/26, Pawan 1/29). City CC: 176 for 5 in 24.5 overs (Sansar Bali 63, Pawan 39, Sanjeev 21, Gurdeep Rana 2/29, Ashok 1/34.
