JCP Qamar Ahmed, who was heading the Traffic Police for the past four years, was transferred to Headquarters in the same rank, a Delhi Police spokesperson said.

S N Srivastava, currently JCP (Planning and Implementation), will replace Ahmed, the official said.

Ahmed has been critical of the Delhi government’s Bus Rapid Transport project and has voiced his doubts about it on numerous occasions.

The transfer order was issued last night by Police Commissioner Y S Dadwal, hours after Ahmed attended a function to launch Delhi Police Traffic Motorcycle Patrol.

Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner of Police (West District) Robin Hibu has been transferred to Arunachal Pradesh on promotion, a senior police official said. Hibu has been promoted as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of the north-eastern state.
