Dholakia, Rajdeep among Asmita awardees

Pune, January 7 THE Bharat Asmita National Awards — given away by MAEER’s MIT School of Government and MAEER’s MIT School of management — have been declared. The awardees this time are Bakul Dholakia, Rajdeep Sardesai, BJ Panda and Dr Raman Singh. It is the fourth year of the award which carries a cash prize of Rs 1.25 lakh, a memento and a citation.

The awards will be distributed by Justice KG Balakrishnan, Chief Justice of India. The ceremony will be held at Swami Vivekanant Sabha Mandap, MIT Campus, Kothrud. Five thousand nominations were received from across the country. The panel that selected the award winners included personalities like T N Seshan, V D Karad, Dr R Mashelkar, Dr V Bhatkar, Dr Yashpal, B E Avhad, Prof Rahul Karad and Ritu Nanda, stated press note.

Bakul Dholakia is the former director of Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad and an expert in management. He will get the Bharat Asmita Acharya Shrestha Award-2008. Rajdeep Sardesai, editor-in-chief and co promoter of CNN-IBN, will get the Bharat Asmita Jana-Jagran Shreshta Award-2008. B J panda, MP, will get the Bharat Asmita Jana-Pratinidhi Shrestha Award-2008. Dr Raman Singh will get the Bharat Asmita Jana-Pratinidhi Shreshta Special Award-2008, stated Prof Rahul Karad, convenor of the Bharat Asmita National Award Committee.
