Digvijay in finals of Super Series

Kolkata, January 31 Top seed in both the boys singles event, Himachal Pradesh’s Digvijay Singh Mehta, reached the semi-finals of both the events, besides reaching the finals of the boys doubles Under-16 at the Sunfeast Junior Tennis Super Series 2008 at the Calcutta South Club today.

Digvijay defeated eighth seed Abhishek Alla of Andhra Pradesh 6-0, 6-0 in the Under-14 quarters and the defeated seventh seed Sirasala Surya of AP 6-3, 6-0 in the Under-16 quarters. In the doubles Under-16 semi-finals, partnering Tamil Nadu’s R Ramkumar, he defeated third seeded Assam pair of Suraj Konwar and Rupam Gogoi 4-2, 4-0.

In the girls section, Maharashtra’s Prarthana Thombare also reached the semi-finals of the singles Under-14 and singles Under-16 and finals of the doubles Under-16.

SV Abhishek of Andhra also reached the semi-finals of the boys singles Under-16 and finals of boys doubles Under-16.

Ankita Raina of Gujarat reached the semi-finals of the girls singles Under-16 and finals of the girls doubles Under-16.
