The Morea brothers - actor Dino and culinary whiz Nicolo - arrive with crepes, waffles and more!

It's not often that one finds such delectable combos. By that we aren’t referring to just the lineup on the menu at this all-new Crepe Station Cafe that’s set up shop in Sector 35’s Hotel Himani. It’s about the two men in white - brothers Dino and Nicolo Morea. While the former we know as the good-looking model turned actor, the other Morea is even better for Nicolo can make you drool, with his fine fare that is! Together, the two bring to the city their Crepe Station Cafe. “It’s a journey that started six years back,” Nicolo, more fondly known as Nic speaks up first. From being a sea-side cafe in a sleepy Mumbai suburb, the Crepe Station Cafe has fast become a national chain. “Nicolo has worked in the European food and beverage industry and has a rich 15-year experience. As for me, I am a foodie all through,” younger brother Dino offers more details. So while Nic is the creative and culinary brain behind the concept, Dino pitches in the with the marketing bit, well, of course we can see why! “See, he’s the food and I am the entertainment,” laughs the actor, tummy-full on paranthas and Dal Makhni we hear. “I love the food here but what we offer is different,” he adds. We let senior Morea take us through.

“For one, the central theme at the cafe are crepes and waffles. Apart from that, the menu over the years has been improvised to include Italian, French and signature Indian dishes,” says Nic. For those who haven’t got a clue, crepes (pronounced not as crap or crapeee but as in rep!) are a part of traditional French cuisine. They are very thin pancakes made of wheat flour which can be both sweet and savory. A look at the menu and you notice it’s far from snooty. “It’s a cafe where we want to promote healthy food, joi de vivre, social interaction and bonding,” Nic winks back with the answer. And there’s plenty to tuck in while you do that - soups, crepes, salads, appetizers, burgers, sandwiches, thin crust pizzas, why, there’s even a Dino’s Delight! “As much as I wish it was a dessert, my brother’s offering a tuna sandwich under that!” laughs Dino who has just wrapped up shooting for director Sanjay Gupta’s ‘Acid Factory’. And for a change he’s playing mean, really wicked he admits. “It’s not the first time that I am playing the bad guy,” says Dino who is now “consciously” looking at content-driven cinema. “Not that I regret what I have done in the past but I do want to do the kind of films I would like to watch,” he says. And when he found that lacking, Dino’s gone ahead and set up his own production house. “It’s called Clockwork Films and we are looking at scripts at the moment,” says Morea who is also working on two other films for the year. And has Nic ever tried his hand at acting? “See, I knew you would ask that!” he laughs before adding on a serious note, “I am looking at a food and lifestyle show rolled into one which I will host. It will offer a peep into the kitchens and homes of the who’s who,” Nic offers a sampler. So let’s raise a toast to that!
