Chandigarh Pawan Jain, media convenor of the Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee, has appealed to the President to dismiss the Mayawati government in Uttar Pradesh and ask the Election Commission to end recognition to the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) over the “undemocratic” functioning of some of its members.

In a letter addressed to the President, Jain said the law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh, where the BSP was in power, was truly alarming. There was no safety of life of the common man. Directly holding BSP supremo Mayawati for the chaos in UP, Jain said people were falling prey to criminals because of the political patronage.
