Pune, February 29 City teams cut a sorry figure with Gadhinglaj Taluka Football Association (GTFA)and Miraj United, Sangli scoring thirteen goals between themselves before making it to the next round of the V All-India Invitational Abhijit Kadam Memorial knock-out football tournament at the Bharati Vidyapeeth Educational complex ground, Dhankwadi, Katraj, here on Friday.

GTFA aided by Swapnil Patil's hat-trick - incidentally the second of the tournament - swamped Phoenix F.A 'A' 6-0. Miraj United on the other hand did one better and recorded the highest ever full-time score humiliating Phoenix F.A 'A' 7-0.

The one-sided wins surely needs to be looked into by the organisers in terms of having evenly matched encounters else the games stand in poor light in terms of publicty.

Late, Thursday night in an all city-team affair Fatima XI downed Central Railway (Pune Division) 6-1 with Michael Vaz earning the distinction of registering the first hat-trick of the tournament.
