Kapse, who was sharing a room with eight other classmates at the hostel in Girgaum, was found hanging in her room with a plastic rope on Tuesday evening.
When contacted, Senior Police Inspector Jayant Sarmokaddam said, “A suicide note was found from her room but she has not blamed anyone for her step. Still, we have taken her laptop and phone to find some more clues whether she was in touch with someone before committing suicide and whether she was facing any personal problem which made her take this extreme step.”
At the condolence meeting organised by Kapse’s friends and acquaintances at the Nair Hospital, her friend and roommate said, “We all had gone for shopping a day earlier and she was perfectly normal. There was no sign of any depression or frustration which could have compelled her to hang herself. It was only on Tuesday morning that she said she did not want to attend the lectures. We think something must have happened on that day itself (Tuesday) .”
Her acquaintances and friends are still shocked. Dr M H Shah, hospital’s deputy dean, said, “Kapse hails from Nagpur . As her parents are quite old, her brother Sameer had came to Mumbai and took her body to Nagpur on Tuesday night for the last rites. The place where she stayed at Girgaum is a place where most of our physiotherapist and doctors whose duties end in the evening reside. Kapse had done her Bachelors in physiotherapy and had been studying for her Masters degree and working at Nair Hospital.”
