Fatehgarh Sahib, September 15 The Bassi Pathana police have registered a case against two prominent doctors and their accomplices under sections 341,506, 323, 379, 141, 149 of the IPC for allegedly threatening and beating up the relatives of a patient.

According to the complaint submitted by one Pawan Kumar, his brother’s wife was admitted in Bawa Nursing Home about two months ago. He said the doctors at the nursing home said that an operation of appendix would be conducted. The family, however, decided to admit the patient in Sector 32 hospital in Chandigarh. However, after medical examinations doctors declared that there was only a minor infection in the patient’s belly.

Kumar said a complaint was registered against the doctors with the Health Minister, Fatehgarh Sahib Civil Surgeon, SSP and Medical Council for giving them wrong advise. He said that they got a threatened call on Friday night to withdraw their complaint. “After receiving the call, my brother Ajay Kumar and mother Dayawanti were on the way to police station, when the doctors and their accomplices beat them up and threatened them,” he said.
