Ambala, March 5 The Indian Doctors for Peace and Development (IDPD), in collaboration with the Mullana MM Medical College and Hospital, hosted a delegation of 80 medical students from Europe and Asia today.

The doctors are participating in a peace march from Bagha border to Rajghat in New Delhi.

The march has been organised by the International Physicians for Prevention of Nuclear War to create awareness among people about the danger of nuclear warfare in the world.

The objective of the doctors is to dissipate the message that expenditure on the manufacturing of nuclear arsenals should be utilised for development of the people.

Dr DS Jaspal of IDPD Haryana branch and president of the local unit of IMA Ashok Sarwal received the marchers at the Kingfisher Tourist complex. The delegates interacted with medical students and their counterparts at Mullana today.

Dr Jaspal said delegates from different continents would gather at the World Congress of IPPNW from March 9 to11 at New Delhi.

He said the meet would discuss several issues related to peace, health and development and decide on strategies to achieve them. He said that over 600 delegates from 60 countries were expected to participate in the meet.
