Double for Andhra Education Society

Mumbai, February 4 It was a day of celebrations for Wadala’s Andhra Education Society School as both their boys and girls teams in the under-16 section won their respective finals in the MSSA girls under-16 volleyball tournament played at Schools Sports Centre, Azad Maidan on Wednesday.

Similar honours were bagged by Kandivali’s Thakur schools. Thakur Vidyamandir surprised fancied Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar 25-17, 25-11 in the girls under-14 final, while their star player Sanika Gothivarekar was also adjudged the outstanding player of the tournament and was awarded the Confidence Champion’s award.

Thakur Shyamnarayan thrashed Children’s Academy (Ashok Nagar) 25-7, 25-17 in the boys under-14 finals.

Girls U-14: Thakur Vidyamandir (Kandivli) bt Dr.Babasaheb Ambedkar 25-17, 25-11.

Girls U-16: Andhra Education Society bt Dr.Babasaheb Ambedkar 25-13, 12-25, 15-13.

Boys U-14: Thakur Shyamnarayan bt Children’s Academy (Ashok Nagar) 25-7, 25-17.

Boys U-16: Andhra Education Society bt ParleTilak (Marathi) 25-10, 25-13.
