Drive against illegal medical practitioners intensified in Amreli

Junagadh In the wake of a hepatitis B virus case surfacing in Liliya town of Amreli district, the district health department has intensified its drive against private practitioners doing illegal medical practice. According to health department sources, some 102 unqualified doctors are illegally carrying out medical practice in the district. Officials said a drive against such doctors was initiated on Tuesday.

“Health officials have declared the names of 14 doctors whose clinics have been sealed,” said a health department official. He said the drive against such doctors will contine across the district. According to sources, illegal practitioners have either disappeared or closed their clinics in the wake of the intensified drive.
