Drunk drivers in trouble

Pune, December 31 It has been observed for years that several citizens continue to drive after consuming alcohol after the parties. But now it won’t be easy, as the traffic police branch has upgraded itself with advanced quality breath analysers, which can detect the proportion of alcohol in the blood of drunk driver within 15 seconds.

“Also, the new analysers can produce a printed copy of this alcohol consumption report,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police Mahesh Ghurye (traffic). Ghurye said that court cases would be filed against drunk drivers. The printed report of their alcohol consumption will be strong evidence in the court against the offenders. Ghurye said that advanced breath analysers were highly successful in Mumbai. The analysers were tested in a various roads in the city on Sunday for generation public awareness.
