DSP’s official vehicle stolen

Ludhiana The official vehicle of Deputy Superintendent of Police (Traffic) Gurdeep Singh was stolen from his private residence on early Sunday morning. The Tata Sumo was parked outside his Sector-39 residence on the Chandigarh Road.

The Division number 7 police have registered a theft case against unidentified persons.

In his statement to the Division number 7 police, the DSP said he had come back to his house late on Saturday evening and head constable Daljit Singh parked the vehicle (PB 12 G-8426) outside his home. DSP Gurdeep Singh said that around 5 am on Sunday morning, he heard someone starting his vehicle and taking it away. He added that by the time he came out to check the vehicle, it had disappeared. The car also had a blue beacon on the top. A Punjab Police Service (PPS) officer, the DSP is yet to get the official accommodation. According to police sources, an alert has been sounded.

Two nabbed with stolen car
A PCR team nabbed two persons who were speeding away in a stolen car from Jamalpur on Sunday morning.

The car belongs to one Hemant Jajota, a resident of Model Town. Sources said Jagota had gone to his relatives’ house in Jamalpur, from where it was stolen around 6 am.

The matter was reported to the police and soon, a PCR team headed by comprising head constable Bhupinder Singh and constable Nirmal Singh spotted the car. They chased the car and nabbed the two, who have been identified as Bunty, a resident of Urban Estate and Vijay, a resident of Salem Tabri.
