New Delhi The Delhi University on Tuesday held a “Peace and Harmony Run” at the North Campus against the recurring acts of terrorism and violence in the country. Around 1,200 students took part in the run, which is part of a series of programmes to be organised by the DUSU and the National Campaign for Combating Terrorism (NCCT) to sensitise the youth.

The campaign was kicked off in the presence of celebrity guests such as Bollywood actors Raima Sen, Randeep Hooda and sportspersons Akhil Kumar and Murali Kartik. President of DUSU Nupur Sharma was also present.

Besides organising the run for peace, the NCCT also has an upcoming bilingual theatre festival, a debate competition, a music festival and a seminar on its cards. They aim to draw the youth towards issues of national importance and the need for peace. The event went smoothly with the help of the Delhi Police, Traffic Police and the University administration.

University Vice Chancellor Deepak Pental could not attend the occasion but he sent in a congratulatory note to the organisers for undertaking the initiative.
