Moti Mahal rolls out a Biryani and Kebabs festival

There's something about the January weather that gets one’s hunger pangs going. Maybe it’s because of the winter sun or at times the lack of it! The wafting aromas of something as sumptuous as biryani and kebabs can add to that. Taking cue, Moti Mahal in Sector 17 is back with its annual Dum Biryani and Kebabs Festival. The week-long food fest that’s on till February 1 offers a specially put together menu. “The dum biryani and kebab festival has been a great hit over the years and which is why we decided to roll it out this season as well,” mentioned owner and restaurateur Sanjay Ahuja. Bringing in specials from Lucknow and Hyderabad, the chefs are putting forth dishes that aren’t on the regular menu. “With the weather getting nippy, it’s the perfect time to be enjoying dum biryani,” added Ahuja. On offer is the authentic Hyderabadi Dum Biryani coupled with ‘Jheenga Biryani’. The latter being a new addition. “The city has developed a taste for prawns and we have incorporated the same with the biryani,” informs the chef. The vegetarian option for the same being the ‘Dum Pukht Biryani’.

The biryanis apart, it’s the kebab line-up that’s pretty impressive. The ‘Pathar Kebab’ made from specially marinated mutton and the melt-in-the-mouth ‘Resham Seekh’ come highly recommended. “Tandoori dishes are particularly enjoyed this time of the year,” Ahuja smiles to say. So in come the likes of ‘Peshawari kebabs’ and ‘Gola Kebab’. For those who relish chicken, you can choose from ‘Chelo Kebab’ and spicy ‘Chicken Tikka’. The popular prawns find their way in the kebab platter too with offerings like ‘Jheenga Nisha’ and golden fried prawns. Apart from these specials which are part of the festival menu, the restaurant will be offering dishes liked ‘Fish Haryali Tikka’, ‘Achari Murg’, ‘Lahsuni Chicken’, ‘Mutton Handi Lazeez’, ‘Paneer Jaipuri’, ‘Khumb Bhutte Makki Palak’ to list a few.
