Phagwara A member of the Badal family would contest Bathinda Lok Sabha constituency in the coming parliamentary polls, Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal said. Asked whether the candidate would be his wife Harsimrat Kaur, he evaded a direct reply, saying that the name would be decided soon by the party's core committee. When asked whether the post of the Deputy Chief Minister would go to the BJP in case he was elevated to the post of Chief Minister in future, Sukhbir shot back, "This chapter should not be opened now." Asked if a reshuffle in the bureaucracy and the police was on the anvil, Sukhbir who also holds the Home portfolio, said it would be done where needed for the sake of accountability, transparency and efficiency.
