Pune After five years into development and spending Rs 3-4 crore, Pune-based Crossover Software Technology Pvt Ltd has come up with a unique central file distribution software — Cross-Docs — for the healthcare industry. The system provides an easy-to-use interface that enables keeping electronic medical record, patient’s demographic information, coding and billing for insurance claim processing, e-prescription, transcription module for medical transcription and dictation system.

Sumanta Gupta, managing director, Crossover Software Technology, said over 10 years of experience in business service for medical industry has gone into its making. “It’s a package of six modules for different medical purposes. The browser-based software will reduce the dependence on manpower and reduce cost overheads. The main benefit is that it helps in monitoring the workflow. It can be customised as per the individual need.”

One of the module is the patient demographic information management. This includes, among other things, the patient’s name, address and contact — both primary and secondary information, date of birth, employer and insurance information. The software also has the ability to verify the patient’s eligibility for receiving certain benefits with the insurance company using a standard electronic data interchange connection.

“Since the application is actually made of various modules, each can run independently. We are now working out the price of the product and it will cost anything between Rs10-15 lakh as a whole. It will also be made available in ‘pay as per usage’ model. The software can acquire data from anywhere (telephone, PDA, recorder) and can interface with any electronic medical record management software,” Gupta said.
