Encroachments removed

Ludhiana Town planning wing of the Municipal Corporation on Friday demolished the illegal constructions which had come up on the shamlaat land near Dhandari village. Encroachments on 1,500 square yard area were demolished during the drive. The demolition team encountered some resistance which was overcome.

Meanwhile the Tehbazari team of the Municipal Corporation removed temporary encroachments from Chaura Bazar. While the rehris and pharis were removed, a few managed to flee.

The shopkeepers had also encroached the areas outside the shops. The Tehbazari branch also uprooted benches from many shops. The drive was led by the Joint Commissioner, Mohinder Pal.
