Chandigarh, March 4 Municipal Commissioner R K Rao ordered a major reshuffle in the Enforcement Wing of the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation after some councillors levelled corruption charges against the Wing officials in the last House meeting.

Commissioner Rao, after receiving complaints from the councillors, had announced in the House that employees who have already completed more than one year in the Enforcement Wing would be shifted.

Following this, Rao issued orders of transfer and posting of 10 employees as inspectors and sub-inspectors. As per the orders issued, Kuldeep Singh and Gurumukh Singh both working as Junior Engineers, have been transferred and posted as Inspectors (Enforcement).

Those transferred and posted as Sub-Inspectors (Enforcement) include D P Singh, Avtar Singh, Jatinder Pal Singh, Bhupinder Singh, Jagmohan, Vinod Kumar, Ranjit Singh and Rajesh Kumar.

As per the orders, these officials are authorised to issue seizure memo under the Punjab Municipal Corporation Act, 1976, extended to the UT Chandigarh by Punjab Municipal Corporation Law (Extension of Chandigarh), Act, 1994.

All the above officials will work under the direct supervision of Enforcement Tehsildar who will further report to Secretary of Municipal Corporation Chandigarh.
