Enriched with overseas experience, senior CMCH doctors rejoin the hospital

Ludhiana, February 4 Three senior specialists who have gained valuable training and experience of working overseas are joining Christian Medical College and Hospital again, and are all set to provide specialized services in their respective departments.

A hospital spokesperson said that their services shall be available from the second half of this month. The three experts are returning to CMCH with the experience of working at different prestigious institutions in Australia.

Dr Sunil Singh, Professor of Surgery, is returning from Adelaide Australia after gaining a valuable experience in Breast and Endocrine Surgery. With his expertise, he will establish and upgrade Breast and Endocrine Surgery Unit.

Dr Rohit Joshi, Medical Cancer Specialist, has valuable experience of working for three-and-a-half years at Royal Adelaide Hospital, Australia. On his return, he is joining CMCH as a Head Consultant in Oncology Department. Dr Atul Saran, Professor of Orthopedics has worked in Brisbane, Australia. He is back with valuable experience in joints and backbone surgery and treatment with the latest techniques.

“It has been a practice with CMCH to send its doctors for knowledge and skill up-gradation in line with the latest developments in medical sciences the world over. CMCH has 114 years of quality service to its credit. The practice of sending doctors abroad to bring back the latest relevant knowhow and expertise in their respective fields will be encouraged in the future too, so that both the patients and the students benefit from it,” said Dr John Pramod.

He highlighted that the CMCH management is making the necessary arrangements to facilitate the return of other experienced specialists too, to enhance its medical services. Dr Pramod said that many doctors who are currently undergoing training abroad have expressed their intent of join back on their return.
