Conducting the function, Dr Rajinder Gulati, incharge of the Department of Pediatrics, said that such functions help in imparting education through competition. The chief guest for the contest was HJS Khera, District Governor of Lions Club.
The function was organised in collaboration with Lions Club. Dr PC Gupta, Medical Superintendent ESIC Model Hospital, highlighted the progress made by the hospital during the past five years.
Dr AK Handa, Nodal Officer for the contest, said that about 120 children took part. They were divided into three groups depending upon their age. In the up to 6 month’s age group, Anmol, Kushboo and Naginder stood first, second and third, respectively. Their mothers Mamta, Rajni and Promila were also awarded as the most aware mothers in this group.
In the 6-24 months age group, Tanishq, Harshit and Sukhmanpreet stood first, second and third, respectively. Their mothers Rachna Devi, Bimla and Kulwinder were also awarded. In the third group of two to five years, Mehak, Vishnu and Gurpreet Kaur stood first, second and third, respectively. Their mothers Sunita Devi, Rachna and Tarandeep were also awarded. Health talks on antenatal care and infant feeding were given by Dr Neelam Bhatia and Dr Rajinder Gulati respectively.
