Siliguri Former Bangladesh President H M Ershad will visit his ancestral home at Dinhata in Cooch Behar district on Sunday.

Describing Ershad’s visit as “personal”, Inspector General of Police (North Bengal) K L Tamta said all the necessary security arrangements have been made for the visit of the former President.

The Jatiya Party leader in the neighbouring country, who would be meeting his relatives and friends and have no official engagements, was expected to arrive at Dinhata by road crossing the Indo-Bangla border at Changrabandha.

Ershad did his schooling at Dinhata and the late West Bengal minister Kamal Guha was his classmate.
