* The pain of longing finds its expression in the paintings. Waiting, an exhibition by artist Rajesh Shah is on display till January 13 from 11.00 am to 7.30 pm at Art2day Gallery, Tilak Road.
* Explore the therapeutic dimensions of paintings. Malaka Spice is holding an exhibition of acrylic on canvas Beyond The Prism by artist Amisha Mehta till January 15 at Malaka Spice’s restaurant art gallery.
* Musical instruments find their way to the canvass through the brushstrokes of five artists who will showcase their work at India Art Gallery from January 5 to January 18 from 10.00 am to 9 pm . The theme of the exhibition is Musicians And Musical Instruments and the participating artistes are Shankar Gojare, Ramesh Jhawar, Shashikant Patade, Sanjay Devsale, Anwar Hussain.
* Leave no stone unturned in knowing the rocks. Bhaarat Itihaas Sanshodhak Mandal and Aranyavaak have jointly organized a talk as part of the Paakshik Sabhaa programmes on January 4 at 6.30 pm at Bhaarat Itihaas Sanshodhak Mandal, Sadashiv Peth. With the help of slides, Udayan Indurkar, an enthusiast in history and Indology would deliver a talk on the references of the sculptures in the rock-cut caves of Verul.
Exhibition
* Take a close look at the scenic view of some pictures of the Polar Regions with Anil Damle and Group Tours’ photo exhibition, Pole to Pole . The inauguration of this exhibition is scheduled to take place on January 4 by Dajikaka Gadgil . On January 5, a release of photo DVD and felicitation of the first eight Indian travellers who have been to both the polar regions by Narendra Jadhav, the VC, Pune University will take place. The exhibition will be held at Yeshwantrao Chavan Kaladalan, Kothrud on both the days at 8 pm. The photo contributors are Anil and Ranjana Damle, Sumantai Kirloskar, Sharad Kulkarni, Vasant Gondhalekar , Ramesh Joshi, Manoj Shirodkar, Dr.Neelima Thatte ,Mohan Borwankar, Kaustubh Shejwalkar , Aparna Bhatte, Vijay Damle and Albeli Group.
