The league unanimously resolved to apprise the Central Government that before 2006, ex-servicemen up to the rank of havildar and equivalent and their widows, have been virtually crushed by the Sixth Central Pay Commission.
The government has granted a minimum pension of Rs 3,500 per month, for both civilian and defence personnel, like earlier pay commissions when there was no Military Service Pay (MSP) for defence personnel.
The Sixth Central Pay Commission has approved Rs 2,000 as MSP as for the lowest rank in defence (exclusively for soldiers), the minimum pension of Rs 3,500 granted to pensioners is not justified, said league president Prabhjot Singh.
“It should have been, at least, Rs 1,000 or more than the civilian pensioners which comes out to be Rs 4,500 per month for defence pensioners.”

Sir these politicians have devided esm, till the time we r not united and together we can not achieve our goal,
The Govt is not sensitive to the issue of pension to Ex servicemen, who has kept the country together, they only take care of vote bank poitics and anounces schenmes just to lure the voter, which other wise may not be sustanable in long run nor they can unite the country. The party/Govt who cannot honour their soldiers have no moral value to stay in the office, sucessive govt has given assurence on one rank one pension but when its implementation is required to be done , theg drag thier feet under financial contrains, they can sanction wasteful expensiture in the name of minority appeachment and so on but Alas! they have no heart or pain at the suffering of exservicemen. The country must pay respect and give thier due what they deserve.
