What’ on your iPod?
A lot of ’80s rock, like Dire Straits, The Police and the like. I also have a lot of Hindi film music by A R Rahman, Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and a lot of Kishore Kumar.

What’s your DVD pick?
I just picked up a DVD of Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron. I’ve seen it about a hundred times by now, and maybe even caused a couple of scratches on the DVD.

Your favourite romantic scene in a movie.
It has to be the one from Notting Hill when Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant jump the fence into a garden and then Ronan Keating’s song starts playing.

Which actress would you love to go on a date with and why?
There’s a list of them actually. Monica Belucci, Eva Mendes, Charlize Theron and Jessica Alba.

Which dialogue have you mouthed the most in front of the mirror?
Robert De Niro’s dialogue from Taxi Driver when he says “You talkin’ to me?”

Who inspired you to become an actor?
Two films I grew up watching so many times — Satte Pe Satta and Hum. Watching Mr Bachchan perform probably inspired me the most.

The worst film you ever watched.
Again two films starring Amitabh Bachchan — Toofan and Jadugar .

Which film do you wish you could be a part of?
Definitely Hum. Probably because I was young and impressionable at the time, I know every scene, every dialogue. I used to pop those sweet Phantom cigarettes into my mouth like Rajnikanth and mouth his lines.

What makes you an actor?
The need to be part of the story-telling process, the need to entertain and finally to just bring a smile to people’s faces.

Quiz: From which film is this line: Abkey sawan jane hamse kya khata huee, hamara ghar chod, sare saher mein barsaat hue.
Don’t know.

(Correct answer: Ab Tumhare Hawale Watan Saathiyo)
