Amritsar Charging the SAD (B)-BJP alliance government in the state with registering fake cases against Congress workers in Punjab, Congress leaders and former Congress legislators from Majha today challenged Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal and Bikram Singh Majithia for an open debate on the issue.

Producing a long list of cases registered against Congress workers in Majha, these leaders said they would approach the Union Home Ministry and the Election Commission in this regard and sought a probe into the matter either by the CBI or a sitting High Court judge.

Addressing mediapersons, the leaders, including Harpratap Singh Ajnala, Tripat Rajinder Singh Bajwa, Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, Sukhjinder Singh Sukh Sarkaria, Sawinder Singh Kathunangal said they were all for an open debate with the SAD-BJP government on this issue. “We shall give up politics if the SAD-BJP wins,” said Harpratap Singh Ajnala. He added that more than one thousand cases had been registered against Congress workers since the SAD-BJP came to power in the state.
